There’s nothing quite like Book Fair week at Lincoln Douglas! Each year, the PTO hosts two Scholastic Book Fairs, one in the fall and a BOGO Book Fair in the spring. Students have the opportunity to visit the fair with their class, create a wish list, and shop for books they’re excited to read.
Families can also shop during designated hours, and Scholastic eWallet makes it easy for students to shop without bringing cash to school. Details for each fair, including dates, hours, classroom schedules, eWallet information, and family shopping opportunities, will be posted here as each Book Fair approaches.
Our Fall Book Fair kicks off the school year with a week of books and fun! Students visit the fair with their classrooms and have additional opportunities to shop throughout the week.
The Fall Book Fair also helps support our school. Purchases earn Scholastic rewards that the PTO can use to put more books and resources into the hands of Lincoln Douglas students and teachers.
Our Spring Book Fair comes with an extra perk, Buy One, Get One FREE! It's a great opportunity for families to stock up on books for summer reading while getting twice the books for their money.
And there's something else that makes this Book Fair especially fun: PTO purchases a book for every Lincoln Douglas student! Each child gets to choose their own book from the fair, and the PTO purchases and delivers the books to their classrooms. It's one of our favorite ways to give back to our students and make sure everyone heads into summer with a new book of their own.
Book Fair week is also one of our biggest volunteer needs of the year. Because students shop during the school day, we need several volunteers throughout each shift to help students find books, manage wish lists and budgets, and keep the fair running smoothly.
Whether you can help for one shift or several, we'd love to have you! No Book Fair experience is needed.
