There are lots of ways to get involved with Lincoln Douglas PTO, and you don’t have to make a huge time commitment to make a difference! Throughout the school year, the PTO needs volunteers for events, fundraisers, classroom activities, staff appreciation, and other projects. Whether you can help for an hour, once a year, or would like to be involved more often, we’d love to have you!
Interested in helping?
Fill out our Volunteer Interest Form and let us know which opportunities interest you. Filling out the form doesn’t commit you to anything; it just helps us know who to contact when opportunities come up.
Room Parents help make classroom celebrations extra special! As a Room Parent, you'll work with your child's teacher to help plan and coordinate the Fall, Winter, and Valentine classroom parties throughout the school year, and work your child's scheduled classroom time during the fall and spring book fairs.
Your job is to help organize the fun, not do it all yourself! Get other parents involved, coordinate snacks, activities and supplies, and make sure all party plans are approved by your classroom teacher.

Help us give our staff a little midweek pick-me-up! Each Wednesday, volunteers stock the K–2 and 3–5 staff lounges with treats like popcorn, granola bars, baked goods, chips and dip, frozen treats—or whatever you think they’ll enjoy!
Pick a Wednesday (or two!) and have fun with it. Each lounge serves approximately 45 staff members (90 total), and treats should be delivered by 8:00 AM. You can take them directly to the staff lounges or leave them with security.
Our staff truly appreciates these Wednesday surprises!
Our Book Fairs are always a favorite with Lincoln-Douglas students, and volunteers are a huge part of making them happen!
Volunteers help students shop, find books, stay within their budget, and keep everything running smoothly. Whether you can help for one shift or several, your time makes a big difference—and it's a fun way to be part of the school day!
We host both a Fall Book Fair and Spring BOGO Book Fair, so there are plenty of opportunities to help throughout the year. Room parents volunteer at the scheduled class time for their children at both book fairs.

Help us celebrate our Lincoln-Douglas staff by contributing to our annual Winter Staff Luncheon! Each December, the PTO provides a special lunch to give our staff a well-deserved break and show them how much we appreciate all they do.
We rely on families to help provide everything from soups and salads to desserts, drinks, and door prizes. Whether you cook, bake, shop, or simply pick something up, every contribution helps make the luncheon special!

Fun Day is one of the most exciting days of the school year! It's a chance for our students and staff to celebrate all their hard work and end the year with a day full of fun.
It also takes a lot of volunteers to make it happen! Volunteers help run activities and stations throughout the day and get a front-row seat to all the excitement.
All volunteer opportunities are outside on the playground and grassy areas behind the school. Volunteer shifts are available for both K–2 and 3–5 sessions.
Please note: Parent attendance at Fun Day is limited to those who sign up to volunteer.
There are lots of ways to help the PTO, and sometimes what we need most is something you already know, do, or have! Do you own or work for a local business? Have a special skill, trade, or talent? Maybe you have access to equipment or resources, or a connection with a local business or organization.
We’d love to know about it! You never know when your skill, talent, or connection could help. Use our Volunteer Interest Form to tell us a little about how you might be able to help.
